Proof Four Coin Set
 The
set, comprises four denominations: £2, £1, 50p and 20p – all struck to
Proof standard in Britannia Silver – They are Britain’s purest Silver
coins. The reverse of each bears Philip Nathan’s new Britannia design
bearing representation of the head of Britannia wearing a helmet, a
traditional attribute, and an indication that she is not defenseless.
Britannia’s intricate flowing hair and
beautifully composed face are fine examples of the minter’s art while a
superimposed wave alludes to Britannia’s maritime heritage. The
crenellated border and vertical lettering are consistent with Nathan’s
earlier coin designs. The obverse of the coin bears Ian Rank-Broadley’s
portrait of the Queen.
To further enhance the beauty of this collection, each coin is struck
using a combination of two very special Proof finishes. The obverse is
struck in the familiar Proof finish where the reverse features an
exquisite Satin Proof finish.

just over a tenth of an ounce and measures only 16.50mm in diameter, the
